Seaweed (Ascophyllum Nodosum) we
purchase from Balis' southern tip; Nusa Dua. The local harvesters of the
region plant the quick-regenerating seaweed in the tidal pools of the Indian
ocean. Many nutrients that people need to survive are found in seaweed.
Richer than any land plant, seaweed is recognized as a complex source of
vital minerals, trace elements, proteins and vitamins. The vitamins and
minerals nourish the skin helping to "soften" rough, dry skin
and help to remove dead skin cells. When included in skin treatments, it
has been reported that seaweed assists in the emulsification of fat cells
& tissues. Massaging the soap lather on the fatty areas of the body
promotes blood circulation and increases the body's metabolic rate. When
the pores open during a warm bath or shower, the active ingredients penetrate
into the dermis and helps to dilate the blood vessels. This contributes
to enhanced blood circulation which promotes the breakdown of fats and lipids.
Seaweed will soothe damaged or irritated skin, heal minor skin infections,
detoxify and cleanse, to help you maintain smooth, firm textured and radiant
skin. Chlorophyll (Chlorophyll) A dark green colored oil made from
Alfalfa grass, is the most densely concentrated chlorophyll containing land
plant on earth. Chlorophyll being rich in many vitamins and minerals works
to nourish tired, exposed skin. Chlorophyll's strongest attribute is its
ability to accelerate the formation of granulation tissue that forms the
base for new tissue growth. Lavender essential oil (Lavandula dentata
officinalis) is extracted from blue violet or purple blossoms. It is an
all-purpose essential oil for skin care. Its effect is antibacterial, pain
relieving, healing for wounds, deodorizing, antiseptic, fungicidal, rejuvenating,
and anti-inflammatory. It is also effective for acne and oily hair as well
as itchy and cracked skin. Lavender plays an important role in aromatherapy,
for its fragrance has a calming and relaxing effect. Its scent is sweet,
balsamy, flowery-woodsy, and light.
